Artist Development with the Sapphires

Have you heard of informal learning? This is learning that takes place outside of a formal educational setting that often involves some type of content or activities with no intended lesson plan, no required assignments or exams. One of the great things about the entertainment industry is the countless amount of content available that provides artists with concrete examples of the hard work and preparation required to make it in the music industry. The Sapphires, released in 2012, is a dramatization based on a true story that provides a great example of artist development and artist management. The movie revolves around four aboriginal, Australian women who perform for soldiers in Vietnam. There is a lot that can be learned from biopics and behind-the-scenes TV shows like VH1 Behind the Music, Unsung, and more.

You can find The Sapphires on popular streaming platforms like Amazon Prime and Google Play.
